When asked how she is today, you are most likely going to hear “Peachy, keeny,
weeny!” For over 13 years,
Michelle has served Reading Emergency Unit as an EMT, Dispatcher, and Billing
Assistant. She also serves as REU’s American Heart Association CPR/1st
Aid Training Center Coordinator. Her commitment to the company,
EMS
and her community also extends to her volunteer efforts.
With the absolute support and help from her family as well, she led the
“Stuff an Ambulance” event which collects non-perishable food items for
needy families in the community, coordinated the Hillsdale County American
Cancer Society’s “Relay for Life” company team and fundraisers, and
directed the summer Camp 9-1-1 program for many years.
Michelle’s humor, optimism and willingness to go the extra mile is what
sets her apart as a Stars of Life.

From
volunteer to Executive Director, Jack has done it all.
He began as a volunteer in 1989. From
there, he went on to dispatching, billing, accounting, Dispatch Supervisor, to
being appointed Executive Director in 1998.
In 2002 Jack stepped down from the Executive Director’s position to
spend more time with his young family. But he didn’t quit
EMS
there. He then became full-time
road personnel as a Paramedic, then on to Billing/Dispatch Supervisor and
overseeing systems operations (radios and computers). Jack also serves on the
Hillsdale County Central 911 Board, the Hillsdale County Fair Board, and the
Hillsdale Rural Fire Department Board. Jack’s history and commitment to Reading
Emergency Unit, EMS
and the community exemplifies the
character of the Stars of Life.
